the concrete floor while performing vehicle maintenance:
a.Where vehicles were being lifted using VBP and American Auto Lifts (no
serial
numbers available), the swing arm pivot restraints were inoperable.

were exposed to a struck-by hazard.
b.Where vehicles were being lifted using VBP and American Auto Lifts (no
serial
numbers available), the safety locks were inoperable. Employees were
exposed
to a struck-by hazard.
c.Where vehicles were being lifted using FMC Auto Lifts (no serial numbers
available), the center jack was leaking. Employees were exposed to a
struck-by
hazard.
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct
this include, but
are not limited to the following:
1.Develop and implement standard operating procedures for
hydraulic lifts which includes daily and periodic inspections and a
preventative maintenance program in accordance with
manufacturers specifications as outlined in the ANSI/ALI Safety
Requirements For Installation and Service Standard.
2.Instruct all employees on the safe operating procedures of all
hydraulic lifts, including but not limited to the operation,
maintenance, daily and periodic inspections.
