Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to material fall hazards: Groundwood Dept. - On or about July 22, 2004, an employee was hospitalized from injuries he sustained when a control conduit was removed and not secured during maintenance on the main cylinder 2 on 9b. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provided employees and managers with safety related work practices in securing materials during maintenance and servicing.
