North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: a)facility - wall build area, on June 6, 2004 wall setters were observed standing on top of eight foot walls while making a connection with the overhead crane without standard railings or equivalent fall protection. Among other methods, one feasible and useful abatement method for reducing this hazard includes, but is not limited to: 1.Install a working platform approved to access the eight foot walls. 2.Provide personal fall arrest systems for employees who are exposed to a fall hazard. 3.Work from an elevated work platform such as a scissor lift or an articulating boom lift.
