Section 6a of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: Th employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6a de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: At the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority in the grounds of the Puerto Nuevo Technical Office in the Document Administration and Telecommunications building, the galvanized steel sliding electric gate at the entrance of the building was missing one of its supports and the motor was damaged. The employees had to physically pull it open and push it closed. Hazard: Collapse of the gate on top of the employees. Among other correction methods, a feasible and acceptable one would be to weld a support to the gate. En la Autoridad de Energia Electrica en los predios de la Tecnica de Puerto Nuevo en el edificio de Administracion de Documentos y Telecomunicaciones, el porton electrico corredizo de acero galvanizado localizado en la entrada del edificio le faltaba el soporte y el motor estaba averiado. Los empleados tenian que abrir y cerrar el porton manualmente. Riesgo: Caida del porton encima de los empleados. Entre otros metodos de correccion uno factible y aceptable para corregir este riesgo seria soldar un soporte al porton y reparar el motor.r

Section 6a of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: Th employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6a de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: At the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority in the grounds of the Puerto Nuevo Technical Office in the Document Administration and Telecommunications building, employees were performing technical and mechanical jobs that included installing and reparing radio units in vehicles and in the shop, among others. The air samples for fungi (mold) taken in the telecomunications area surpasssed 1500 Colony Forming Units/m3 (CFU/m3), the fungi found to be in the highest concentrations were proven to be highly allergenic and accountable for the production of human mycotoxins like aflatoxins and tricothecenes. Hazard: Allergic reactions and infection. Among other correction methods, a feasible and acceptable one would be to clean and disinfect the area and control the humidity. En la Autoridad de Energia Electrica en los predios de la Tecnica de Puerto Nuevo en el edificio de Administracion de Documentos y Telecomunicaciones, empleados estaban realizando trabajos tecnicos y mecanicos que incluian la instalacion y reparacion de radios dentro de vehiculos y dentro del taller, entre otros. Las muestras de aire para hongo tomadas dentro del area de telecomunicaciones sobrepasaron las 1500 Unidades Formadoras de Colonias/m3 (CFU/m3 por sus siglas en ingles), los hongos encontrados en las concentraciones mas elevadas eran altamente alergenicos y responsables por la produccion de micotoxinas humanas como las aflatoxinas y las tricotecenes. Riesgo: Reacciones alergicas e infecciones. Entre otros metodos de correccion uno factible y aceptable para corregir este riesgo seria limpiar y desinfectar el area y controlar la humedad.r

Section 6a of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6a de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: At the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority in the grounds of the Puerto Nuevo Technical Office in the Document Administration and Telecommunications Building, in the payroll document storeroom, the employees fetched boxes full of documents from unanchored shelves up to 8 feet in height with and without ladders. Hazard: Falling of the shelves on top of the employees. Among other correction methods, a feasible and acceptable one would be to anchor the shelves. En la Autoridad de Energia Electrica en los predios de la Tecnica de Puerto Nuevo en el edificio de Administracion de Documentos y Telecomunicaciones, en los cuartos de almacen de nomina, los empleados buscaban cajas llenas de documentos en anaqueles sin anclajes a una altura de hasta 8 pies, con y sin escaleras. Riesgo: Caida de los anaqueles encima de los empleados. Entre otros metodos de correccion uno factible y acceptable para corregir este riesgo seria anclar los anaqueles.
