Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: Employees falls from a moving pick up truck while being transported on the cargo area of a pick up truck trademark Ford Ranger, year 1997 and plate # 592257. One employee fell from the vehicle and hitted the pavement with his head, he loosed consiousness and was transfered to the hospital where he died 4 days later. The accident occured inside the premises of Coco Beach Complex on the road tha goes from the Treatment Plant to an area behind security guard building. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is following the vehicle owner's manual instructions that states that persons can't be allowed to ride in the cargo compartment. Empleados se caigan del compartimiento de carga de la camioneta "pick up" mientras sean transportados en el compartimiento de carga de la camioneta Ford Ranger, ano 1997 con # de tablilla 592257. Un empleado cayo del vehiculo y se golpeo en la cabeza perdiendo el conocimiento y fue transportado al hospital donde murio cuatro dias despues. El accidente ocurrio en los terrenos del Complejo de Coco Beach en la carretera que va desde la Planta de Tratamiento a el area posterior de la caseta de los guardias. Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este riesgo es seguir las instrucciones del manual del dueno del vehiculo que establece que no se debe permitir viajar personas en el compartimiento de carga del vehiculo.
