Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) In the maintenance area the Grob vertical band saw used for cutting metal, was not equipped with a magnetic restarter or equivalent device as prescribed by the American National Standards for Metal Cutting Saws, ANSI B11.10.2003, Section 6.11, that in the event of an interruption in the electrical supply, the saw would not restart automatically when the power is restored. There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.
