Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a)Tripping and falling hazards causing severes contusions, lacerations,
abrasions
and death in case of structural collapse.
Employees were working daily and continually as a teachers on a concrete
building of some classrooms which have so many cracks on the floor,
sidewalks, ceiling, a crack in one of the concrete stairways and a serious
unlevel problem on the floor due to a possible settlement situation.  The
Puerto Rico Fire Department made a complete inspection of the work area and
they recomended an evaluation of the affected area by a structural engineer
and a soil study in such a manner that can be demonstrate if the structure
is
secure for the use of employees.
Location:  The concrete building located at the Mario Francisco Pagan
School.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is the performing of a complete evaluation of the
building
by an structural engineer and a soil test around of it to demonstrate if
the
structure is secure for the employees.
a)Riesgos de tropiezos y caidas ocasionando contusiones severas,
laceraciones,
abrasiones y muerte en caso de colapso estructural.
Empleados estuvieron trabajando diaria y continuamente como maestros en un
edificio de cemento de varios salones de clases el cual tiene muchas
grietas
en
el piso, aceras, techo, una grieta en una de las escaleras de cemento y un
problema serio de desnivel en el piso debido a una posible situacion de
asentamiento.  El Departamento de Bomberos de Puerto Rico hizo un
inspeccion completa del area de trabajo y recomendo una evaluacion del
lugar
de trabajo por un ingeniero estructural y un estudio de suelo de manera
tal que
se pueda demostrar si la estructura es segura para el uso de los empleados.
Localizacion:  Edificio de cemento localizado en la Escuela Mario Francisco
Pagan.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo
es la realizacion de una evaluacion jabon del edificio por un
ingenieroestructural y una prueba de suelos alrededor de este para
demostrar si la
estructura es segura para los empleados."

correct this hazard is the placing of new tiles in the affected area.

Una empleada estuvo trabajando diariamente en un salon de clases el cual
tiene
en el piso un espacio de 8' de largo x 6' de ancho sin tener losetas de
vinil.
Localizacion:  Salon de tercer grado de la escuela Mario Francisco Pagan.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo
es la colocacion de nuevas losetas en el area afectada."
