Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a)Falling hazards causing severes contusions, abrasions and get punctures and cuttings on elbows, arms and hands. Employees were working daily & continually on different tasks inside of a gas station cabin using a deteriorated wood chair which have broken the back side area. Also this chair had protuding cutting edges. Location: inside of the cabin of the workplace known as All Star Gas Station, Road 101, Bo. Palmarejo, El Tendal area, Lajas, P.R. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is the removing of such chair and place a new one. a)Riesgos de caidas ocasionando contusiones severas, abrasiones y de obtener pinchazos y cortaduras en los codos, brazos y manos. Empleados estuvieron trabajando diaria y continuamente en diferentes tareas en el interior de una cabina de una estacion de gasolina utilizando una silla de madera deteriorada la cual tenia rota el area del espaldar. Tambien esta silla tenia filos sobresalientes. Localizacion: En el interior de la cabina del lugar de trabajo conocido como gasolinera All Star Gas Station, Carr. 101, Bo. Palmarejo, Sector El Tendal, Lajas, P.R. Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este riesgo es la remocion de dicha silla y colocar una nueva."
