Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to struck-by and or crush hazard from the tipping over of
steel cabinets during
their manufacture and storage in the plant:
a)  Production Floor - On or about August 12, 2005 an employee was
struck-by an an
upright, narrow door, stainless steel cabinet, that tipped over when the
door was opened
and the employee was located in front of the cabinet.
Among other methods one feasible and useful method to correct this hazard
is to provide
a means for such a cabinet to be attached to an anchoring system, ie:a
wall, a wide base
or secured steel beam once it is stood upright on its wheels/base in the
plant.
Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date.  The
certification
shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of
abatement, and
states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
