North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) grated storage area within the facility - the employer did not properly construct the foundation for a grated platform being used for storage, measuring 6'8" in height, and supported by one vertical and one horizontal 2" x 4". NOTE: Among other methods, the feasible and acceptable method to abate these hazards is to replace the wooden 2" x 4" boards with a storage rack.
