Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: The employer failed to ensure that proper use of the scissor lift was being preformed as follows: (a)At the West side of the Southwest Business Perk II Project, One employee was standing on the guardrail of a scissor lift, elevated approximatelty 14 feet above ground level. The employee was accessing the roof area while standing on the guardrail. Reference: ANSI A92.6 - 1990 Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms: Section 8.10.1 Personnel Footing: Personnel shall maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working thereon. Use of planks, ladders, or any other devices on the platform for achieving additional height or reach shall be prohibited. One feasible means of abatement is to make sure that the user use the scissor lift as required by ANSI A92.6 as required.
