North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to contact with the ram and bed of a mechanical press brake (Ref: para 4.4.4.3 ANSI B11.3-1982): a)press brake room-foot pedal of a Cincinnati mechanical press brake was not provided with a guard to prevent accidental activation of the machine. (Ref: para 4.4.4.3, ANSI B11.3-1982) One feasible means of abatement is to provide a cover/guard for the mechanical foot pedal on the machine.

North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to hazards being struck by a hoist: a)steel room-a Yale half ton hoist used to lift metal and other heavy object, had no history of being inspected. (Ref: Chapter 16-2, ASME B30.16b-1995). One feasible means of abatement is to insure all hoist are inspected and records are maintained.
