North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by ejected parts from a hammer mill shredder: (Ref: para 4.5.1, ANSI Z268.1-1982) a)shredder mill-rubberized shield used to protect employees from ejected material from a Universal Hammer Mill model 96104 was torn and in-effective. Ref: para 4.5.1, ANSI Z268.1-1982. One feasible means of abatement is to install a new shield.
