SCRR 71-112A: Failed to furnish a place of employment which is free of recognized hazards which may cause death or serious physical harm to his employees and comply with this regulation and other occupational safety and health rules and regulations promulgated under Chapter 15 of Title 41, Code of Laws, State of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, as follows: A. Employer knew or should have known that the operator of a Gehl 553 Model forklift, Serial Number 80685353, not at the controls while two employees were elevated in a work basket, in excess of 16 feet high, at front of building constituted a hazard of the lift shifting or of the employees falling or of the lift being struck by objects or other hazards and no way for the employees to get down. A feasible and useful method, among others, to correct the hazard, is to have the operator remain at the controls while employees are in an elevated basket.
