40.1-51.1.(a), Code of Virginia: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employee(s) in that: The employer had employee(s) exposed to impalement hazards from 5/8 in steel rods protruding from the ground 3 to 3 1/2 feet underneath the area were employee(s) were working on the roof doing welding on steel beams. One feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to guard the impalement hazard to eliminate the hazard.te
