NCGS 95-129(01): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees are exposed to potentially falling loads being lifted by a crane:: a) facility -- The below the hook lifting device, used to lift the large aluminum wheels with the 5-ton Demag overhead crane at the line production line, had no marked load rating. Reference ANSI Section 20.1.2.1(b): The nameplate or other permanent marking shall be affixed displaying the rated load. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to determine the rated load and mark the rated load on the below the hook lifting device.
