Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees exposed to a crushed/struck by hazard. a) Grand Colonial Restaurant 86 173 Hwy, Union Twsp NJ. (Central Jersey Construction). Employees engaged in roof truss installation were exposed to a crushing/struck by hazard due to insufficient temporary bracing. Condition noted on or about 01/13/2006. ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD, AMONG OTHER MEANS, WOULD BE FOR THE COMPANY TO FOLLOW THE TRUSS MANUFACTURERS (BCSI-B1 SUMMARY SHEET),AND THE CONSULTATION OF A REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER.
