Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not
furnish employment and a place of
employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or
likely
to cause death or serious
physical harm to employees:
(a)Date of Violation:11/10/04
Location:Rooftop
Condition:Employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed/struck by
collapsing roof
trusses due to inadequate bracing techniques.
Among others, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is
to install bracing in
accordance with the Wood Truss Council of America recommendations per BCSI
1-03.
That prior to the date of issuance hereof, Carlos Orellana, T/A Carlos
Carpentry violated the standard,
regulation, or section of the MOSH Act cited herein, for which the
following citation(s) was/were issued and
became final:
1.  Item No. 1, Citation No. 1 of Case No. G4167-081-04, issued on
07/14/04, resulting from inspection at
Easton Club East, Bradley Avenue, Lot 165, Easton, MD. 21601 and became
final on 10/25/04.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training certification, etc.)
is required for this item.

Condition:Employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed/struck by
40 foot
trusses that were not properly hoisted with an approved spreader bar.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to hoist the tyrusses in accordance with the Wood Truss Council of America
recommendations
per BCSI 1-03.

training
certification, etc.) is required for this item.
