Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck and crushed by roof trusses that were not adequately supported. Among other means, one feasible means of abatement would be to follow the manufacturers instructions for bracing roof trusses. (a) Location - 53 Dodge Street, Beverly, MA: On or about 01/12/2005, employees were exposed to being crushed by and/or struck by falling roof trusses which were not adequately supported.
