5(a)(1): Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: Employees were exposed to fire and deflagration hazard due to possible ignition of an organic peroxide formulation: The interior of a refrigerator used for the storage of 21 gallons of Trigonox 121, a Class III organic peroxide, was of a general duty design and was did not meet the requirements of a Class I Division 1 Group D location. Abatement note:One feasible method of abatement is to substitute a refrigeration unit which is approved for the storage of these materials as described in the National Fire Protection Association Standard NFPA 432, 2002 section 4.5.2.
