Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment that were free from recognized hazards and were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: On or about August 25, 2005, employees were exposed to struck-by and/or crushing injuries from automotive hoists that had inoperable safety locking devices to hold the hoists in the fully extended position. Among others, feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard are: a) Maintain and care for their automotive lifts to ensure their continued safe operation in accordance with ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000. b) Establish and implement a periodic inspection program for their hoists based on manufacturer's recommendations. 0 0 y 0 L
