Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Falls of over ten feet due to the employer not providing a personal fall arrest system or guardrails around the working platform of a scissors lift. On or about 12/01/04 an employee was exposed to the hazard of a fall in excess of 10 feet due to no personal fall arrest system being provided or standard guard rails being installed around the working deck of a scissors lift Among other methods of abatement, a feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to provide guard rails around the working deck of the scissors lift as required by ANSI/SIA 92.6 -1990 of Self- Propelled Elevating Work Platforms. CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS CITATION
