Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a
place of employment
which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to
cause death or serious
physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to hazard of
rolling gulf carts into
bodies of water:
On or about 01-25-2005, an employee operating an EZ-GO cart on a steep
slope near the lake
was exposed to the hazard of drowning when the cart rolled backward into
the lake.
Among other methods of abatement, a feasible and acceptable method to
correct this hazard is
to prohibit employees from operating this type of carts on steep slopes.
PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS
REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.

working adjacent to water:
On or about 01-25-2005, employees were observed working adjacent to water
without life vest
where the hazard of drowning exists.
Among other methods of abatement, a feasible and acceptable to correct
this hazard is to provide
US Guard-approved life jackets or buoyant work vests.
PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS
REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
