Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazard from trailers: a.On or about January 27, 2006, at yard 1, auto hauler trailer 4815, at the auto hauler trailer's top deck over the cab, there was no standard railing and the fixed ladder did not have side rails that extended above the top deck, exposing the driver to an 8 feet fall hazard. b.On or about January 31, 2006, at yard 1, auto hauler trailer 70301, at the auto hauler trailer's top deck over the cab, there was no standard railing and the fixed ladder did not have side rails that extended above the top deck, exposing the driver to an 8 feet fall hazard. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure the use of platforms with standard guard rails or the use of personal fall arrest devices. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.TION

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards from fixed ladders: a.On or about January 26, 2006, in the parking lot, on auto hauler trailer 1295, a hydraulic hose looped over the climbing side of a trailer ladder used to decend from the top deck, exposing employees to a fall hazard. b.On or about February 1, 2006, in yard 1, on auto hauler trailer 1201, a hydraulic hose looped over the climbing side of a trailer ladder used to decend from the top deck, exposing employees to a fall hazard. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure that rungs, cleats, and steps are free of projections. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.
