AS 18.60.075 Safe employment. (a) An employer shall do everything necessary to protect the life, health, and safety of employees including, but not limited to s (3) adopting and prescribing control or technological procedures, and monitoring and measuring employee exposure in connection with hazards, as may be necessary for the protection of employees; and EXAMPLE: The employer's Control of Hazardous Energy (lockout/tagout) training is inadequate and/or ineffective. If adequate training had been completed, the Pitwatcher would have properly completed lockout/tagout procedures before removing the floor grate in an entry/exit aisleway. The Pitwatcher directed the injured employee to the dewatering room to turn on the steam hose and poor visibility conditions should have dictated that lockout/tagout be followed.
