North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to a fall from a ladder: a)employees were on a metal extension ladder, no additional data, when two employees were observed standing on and working from the same ladder at the same time at approximately 12 - 16 feet above the lower ground level while performing roofing work on the steep slope roof of a two story, single family house under construction. Reference: ANSI A14.2-1982, para 8.2.1. Among others, one feasible and acceptable method of abating this violation is to provide training to employees to ensure that only one employee is allowed on a ladder at any one time.r
