North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: a)facility, cafeteria kitchen - for employees who used the portable continuous duty "Phil Rick Fan", serial number 5JFO3887, plugged into a 120 volt outlet of the kitchen circuitry, that was not protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to install Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI) for kitchen receptacles.
