employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in
that an employee was
exposed to the hazard of falling while using a scissor lift as a work
platform. Duramey
Builders, Inc. Site Instance - An employee was standing on the end section
mid-rail and leaning
over the top guardrail while using a screw-gun to fasten metal roof
decking; thus exposed to a
fall of approximately 18 feet to the concrete floor below. A feasible
means of abatement would
be to comply with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI
A92.6-1999 Standard
for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms, Section 8.10(9) entitled
Operator Warnings
And Instructions which states "Personnel shall maintain a firm footing on
