Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard being struck by a falling load. a)Cooler Area: The hook of the Saturn hoist was not equipped with a safety latch, on or about 12/16/2005. b)Cook Room Area: The hook of the Saturn hoist was not equipped with a safety latch on or about 12/16/2005. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to equip the hoist with safety latches as described in ANSI B30.16-1993, Section 16-1.2.9 (hooks).
