Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that employees were exposed to the hazard of crushed-by. On or about April 19, 2006, at 158 Business Road, Granbury, Texas, employees were exposed to the hazard of crushed-by while uncrating large sections of glass. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods to abate this hazard include, but are not limited to: 1) The use of a restraining frame to secure the load of glass to prevent the load from shifting during the uncrating process. 2) Provide training and information to all employees that addresses the hazards of struck by and the proper procedure for uncrating glass with the use of a restraining frame.
