Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: Jobsite, 7010 S. 108th St, Omaha, Ne - The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards associated with failing to properly use seatbelt restraint devices while operating a fork lift. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard includes, but not limited to the following: a) Insure that all operators have received initial training and re-certification on proper operation of forklifts. b) Conduct periodic, unannounced inspections to insure compliance with the policies and procedures delineated in the company's written fork lift program. c) Enforce the company's disciplinary action program. Abatement certification is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.
