Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: a) Warehousing Area of Plant - The employer did not ensure that employee(s) operating the Clark Lift Order Picker, Model No. OP15, Serial Number OP15-0175-PM9293, were equipped with and utilized required restraining means such as railings, chains, cable, body belt(s) with lanyard(s), or deceleration devices that would prevent the employee(s) from falling from a height of approximately 12 feet. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement to correct this hazard include, but are not limited to the following: Conform to The American Society of Mechanical Engineers "Safety Standard for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks, ASME B56.1-2000, Sections 4.17.2 and 4.17.3. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
