Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to falling off of the step and being crushed by the wheels of
the moving vehicle:
a)  Work Zone site located on 451 Springdale Ave, East Orange, NJ.
Employer failed to enforce his company safety and health policy, stating
know employees is to
to ride on the outside step of moving vehicle.
Violation observed on or about 04/21/2005.
"Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
follow the current company safety and health policy stating employees or
not to ride on the
outside step of a moving vehicle".
