Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a)Jobsite - on or about November 2, 2005 - employees were exposed to a hazard of being struck by falling steel trusses during the construction of the roof system of the strip mall. Trusses were not adequately braced to prevent a total collapse of this system. AMONG OTHER MEANS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD OF ABATEMENT FOR THIS CONDITION IS: Follow the Field Installation Guide supplied by the manufacturer for the proper installation and bracing procedures that are required for this truss system.
