struck
by the boom of a backhoe while standing within the swing pivot area of a
backhoe during
active excavation operations.
Among other methods, feasible abatement methods include: Adhering to the
warnings in
the backhoe manufacture's and the Equipment Manufactures Institute
operator's and
safety manuals by ensuring that no one is allowed to enter the backhoe
swing pivot area
while the backhoe is in operation.
