Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to in that employees are exposed to crushed-by hazards while operating forklifts without using the provided seatbelts: (a) Plant, Warehouse - Two forklift operators were operating a Yale and a Toyota forklift in clear view of management without using the forklifts installed seatbelts. This condition could cause crushed-by hazards if the employees were to be ejected from the lifts. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to follow the requirements of the American National Standard Institute standard, ASME B56.1-1993, Safety Standard for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks, and follow the manufacturer's operating procedures. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION NOT REQUIREDATION
