Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling: (a) Location - Roof, South side of structure: On or about 07/26/2005, employees were exposed to a fall hazard of more than twenty feet while accessing a roof from the platform of a scissor lift. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means to correct this hazard, include but are not limited to: a) Conduct training on the safe use of the scissor lift as per the manufacturer's operating instructions; b) Utilize the midrail chain provided as part of the guard rail system of the scissor lift, as per the manufacturer's operating instructions, as specified by ANSI/SIA A92.6-1990, American National Standard for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms.
