North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to electrical hazards from exposed live wires and lack of ground fault protection: a) Operator/Controller failed to provide migrant labor camp, consisting of two two-story houses located at 104 and 104A Edenton Road Street, Hertford, NC 27944,in that: 1) Electrical hazards were present at 104 Edenton Road Street as follows: (i) Two ceiling light fixtures had exposed live electrical wires. (ii) One wall switch was hanging loose, exposing live electrical wires. (iii) The outlet on the back porch was not ground fault protected. (iv) A washing machine was sitting outside on the ground and capable of being plugged in for use. 2) Electrical hazards were present at 104A Edenton Road Street as follows: (i) The light fixture on the porch, just above the phone, was missing a light bulb, exposing live electrical parts.
