- On or about September 11, 2007, employees of a subcontracting
company on site, were erecting wooden trusses on top of a three story
building. The temporary bracing for the trusses was inadequate in that no
diagonals were in place.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD OF
ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURER'S
RECOMMENDATIONS ON ROOF TRUSS ERECTION OR THE BCSI 1-03, "GUIDE TO
GOOD PRACTICE FOR HANDLING, INSTALLING & BRACING OF METAL PLATE
CONNECTED WOOD TRUSSES", FROM THE WOOD TRUSS COUNCIL OF AMERICA
AND THE TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE, OCTOBER 1, 2003.
