Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to THE HAZARD OF BEING STRUCK-BY MOVING VEHICLES: a)Winchell Road, Town of Camillus, on or about 11/26/05: Employee was allowed to ride on the side of a 1999 Ford, Model F800 recycling curb sorter, New York License #15134JP between stops. One feasible and acceptable method to correct this condition is to: Ensure that each employee is instructed and trained per American National Standard Institute, ANSI Z245.1-1992, Section 6.2.1 as to not allowing employees to ride on the side of the vehicles. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
