(a) Cutting & Sawing Department, West Wall - The Brobo Super 325 circular
cut off saw, used
to cut metal, was not equipped with a magnetic restart or similar device.
The saw was used last
on or about October 24, 2005.
(b) Packaging Area, Saw Area, East End - The Rollin vertical band saw,
used to cut wood and
metal, was not equipped with a magnetic restart or similar device.  The
saw was used last on
or about October 20, 2005.
(c) Packaging Area, Saw Area, East End - The Lockformer vertical band saw,
used to cut wood
and metal, was not equipped with a magnetic restart or similar device.
The saw was used last
on or about October 20, 2005.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard includes but
not limited to the following: Conform to ANSI an American National
Standard Institute for
Metal Sawing Machines B11.10 - 2003, Section 6.11 in that the machine
controls shall
incorporate a type of drive motor starter that will disconnect the drive
motor from the power
source in the event of control voltage or power system failure.
In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required
for this violation
(using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in
addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be
included with
your certification.  This documentation may include, but not limited to,
evidence of the
purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of
abatement, or other
written records.
