Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees who were exposed to struck-by or caught between hazards from improperly braced roof trusses: a.Building Under Construction - The employer did not adequately temporarily brace the 8 wooden trusses which were approximately 45 feet long and the 18 trusses 45 feet long with a 5 feet over hang for the porch and set on 2 feet centers due to the fact the BCSI guide lines were not followed since there was no top chord diagonal bracing, improper temporary lateral bracing of the trusses and improper gable end bracing as observed on 12-18-07. Abatement Note: Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means to correct the condition noted above include complying with the BCSI 1-03 Guide Lines.
