North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of North
Carolina:  The employer did not furnish to each of his employees
conditions of employment
and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing
or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed
to falls due to
the collapse of a two story wood frame house:
a)jobsite - on January 31, 2006, two employees were injured in the
collapse of
the two story wood frame house located at 1844 Buxton Way, Burlington, NC.
The house was not built to state building code standards in that exterior
sheathing was not applied from the ground up and corners of the house on
the
front had not been properly braced.

R602.10, Sections R602.10.1, R602.10.3 and R602.10.6.)
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct
this hazard are:
1-Build multi story structures to building codes from ground up and
2-Apply exterior sheathing from ground up.
3-Properly brace corners per the state building code.
