Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that:
Employee(s) were exposed to struck by and crushing hazards while performing
repair and servicing activities on trucks that were not rendered immobile
prior
to performing work on the trucks.  A recent example of this hazard existed
on
or about 06/09/2006, at the establishment located at 3434 Easy St.,
Dallas,TX,
when servicing was performed on a Peterbilt truck.
Among other measures, feasible means of abatement include, but are not
limited to:
1) Take active measures to control truck movement during servicing and
repair
activities, in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's
recommendations.
An example includes placing the transmission in neutral, setting brakes and
chocking wheels.
2) Clearly communicate the requirement to use movement control measures to
all employees working on or near trucks undergoing service and maintenance.
