Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: On or about December 14, 2007, at the work site located at 650 South Griffin Street in Dallas, Texas 75202, the employer did not redirect west bound traffic around the work area. Two employees working and walking in the open lane were exposed to the hazard of being struck-by a motor vehicle. Among other methods, one feasible means of abatement includes but is not limited to: Complying with Section 6C.05, Transition Area, of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Millennium Edition, December 2000.
