Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by a fallen load lifted by the under the hook custom made lifting devices. a)Building 160: Employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by falling material while using below the hook lifting device spreader bars that are used for lifting concrete planks. b)Building 160: Employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by falling material while using 55 gallon metal drums with holes cut in the sides that is used for lifting trash and other debris. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct these hazards are to: Inspect the lifting devices and rate and mark their load capacity ratings in accordance with ASME B30.20 - 1993 (Below the Hook Lifting Devices), Section 20-1.3 - Inspections and Section 20-1.2 - Marking and Construction.
