Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by flying scrap materials: a)At the Establishment: Employees working at the conveying belt were not protected from being struck by construction debris flying out of the hammer mill. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to: install a barrier guard in front of the employees working at the conveying belt in order to prevent employees from being struck by flying debris.
