Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries: (a)Dock Area: The employer allowed employees to manually lift the McGuire SO # 1782384 Model No 70083018A hinge dock leveler lip. Among other methods one feasible method to correct this hazard is to follow Owner's Manual & Installation Guide that states, "Do not attempt to manually lift the dock leveler platform or lip, with personnel or other equipment. If the dock leveler is not working properly using the operation instructions in this manual, do not use the dock leveler. Contact your authorized W.B. McGuire representative." 0 0 Dy 0 t
