North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)service bay- where employees used an overhead crane including, but not limited to, an overhead crane with a CM Lodestar 3 ton hoist and a Budgit 3 ton hoist, to move and lift parts of forestry equipment that had not received an annual inspection since 2003. Abatement Note: 1. One feasible and acceptable method is to implement a schedule for frequent and regular inspections of hoist and chain assemblies prior to work being performed.
