North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to crushed by hazards: a)Fleet Maintenance Shop-no periodic qualified inspection had been performed for two automotive lifts, Challenger 2 Plus model 2700 ser. 270476 and Wallace model 1-206103, used to lift lawn mowers for maintenance. (ref. para 5.1,5.6 and 6.1 ANSI/ALI ALOIM-1994). A feasible means of abatement is to have periodic inspections performed by a qualified inspector to ensure the safe operation of the lifts.ion
